Webalo today announced their inclusion in Gartner's November 2018 Research Note, Hype Cycle for Frontline Worker Technologies, 2018.  As Gartner states, "frontline workers' daily activities and workflows tend to be time-and task-centric, requiring different solutions than for knowledge workers...Gartner predicts that up to 70% of mobile and endpoint investments will be aimed at enabling frontline workers over the next five years."

What is a frontline worker? A common definition is "frontline is used to describe an employee who deals directly with customers, or who is directly involved with making a product."  Frontline workers are traditionally task-focused, so for the manufacturing industry, they would include production workers, plant workers, quality and maintenance personnel.

A Harvard Business Review study suggested that small increases in productivity and retention can have a significant impact on an organization's bottom line. HBR's calculations estimate that improving retention by one percentage point in a 5,000 person front line results, on average, a $2.5million annual benefit. By implementing a frontline system driving performance, companies win.

How does Webalo address the needs of the frontline worker?

  • Webalo's platform designed as ultimate frontline worker tool - Webalo, with its transformative, no-code app generation platform addresses frontline worker productivity with its patented technology that allows enterprises to easily generate dynamic desktop and mobile persona-based apps.
  • Extended integration with industrial  and business data sources – Webalo harnesses real-time industrial and enterprise data to create actionable visualizations of plant and business data.
  • Three simple steps - users can connect to the data, configure the apps and deploy them across the enterprise, without the need for advanced software development resources.

Webalo's CEO, Peter Price, puts this in context: "We believe [the Gartner recognition] reinforces our focus of being a software platform that generates real-time, actionable business intelligence applications across industrial operational (OT) and enterprise information (IT) systems."
